Aaliyah Dana Haughton (January 16, 1979 – August 25, 2001) was an American singer, actress, and model, renowned for her influential contributions to R&B and pop music. Known for her distinctive voice, Aaliyah's debut album, Age Ain't Nothing but a Number (1994), marked her as a rising star in the music industry. She gained widespread acclaim with her second album, One in a Million (1996), which showcased her innovative style and helped define the late '90s R&B sound.

In addition to her music career, Aaliyah made a successful transition to acting, starring in films such as Romeo Must Die (2000) and Queen of the Damned (2002). Her talent and charisma earned her a dedicated fan base and critical praise.

Tragically, Aaliyah's promising career was cut short when she died in a plane crash in the Bahamas in 2001 at the age of 22. Despite her brief life, Aaliyah's legacy endures through her music and the impact she had on the genres she loved.
