The Night of the Hunter (1955)

In "The Night of the Hunter" (1955), a sinister and manipulative preacher named Harry Powell marries a widow in a small West Virginia town in search of a hidden fortune. The preacher's menacing pursuit of the money puts two young children, John and Pearl, in great danger as they realize the true nature of their new stepfather.
