'The Blue Angel' is a 1930 German film directed by Josef von Sternberg. The movie follows the story of a professor who falls in love with a cabaret singer and experiences a downfall due to their relationship. It is known for being one of the first major German sound films and launching actress Marlene Dietrich to international stardom.
