Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles (2005)

A father travels to rural China to mend his relationship with his estranged son who is hospitalized. Unable to meet his son, he undertakes a journey to fulfill his son's wish of seeing a traditional Chinese opera performance. Along the way, he encounters challenges and experiences personal growth as he learns more about his son's life and the culture of the people he meets.
