When Mitchell's parents move to California, he is sent to live with his cousin Wiley in Cincinnati. Mitchell, a laid-back California surfer, struggles to adapt to his new Midwest surroundings and finds himself at odds with local bullies, including the menacing Jack. However, when Mitchell joins the school's championship rollerblading team, he must overcome his fears and differences to compete in a high-stakes race.
